Occupational Therapists and Assistants In The USA
Occupational Therapists work with patients to achieve a level of independence in their daily lives. Among the services are: designing a treatment program for the patient; evaluation of the patient’s living and work sites; performance skills testing; and guidance for family members. A patient uses an occupational therapist after a stroke or heart attack, an accident that changes the patient’s abilities, such as a broken bone, sports injuries, developmental problems in children and guiding family members with diseases like Alzheimer’s.
